Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten State Institutes for Reading Intervention (Pre-K/K SIRI)

Ohio's Pre-K/K SIRI has been designed to provide teachers with an in-depth understanding of critical components of early literacy skills. Pre-K/K SIRI is comprised of seven different modules, each 12 hours in length delivered in four 3-hour sessions. Special delivery of two 6-hour sessions can be arranged upon request. The modules are offered to all early education, child care and preschool staff as well as kindergarten teachers. Each module can be taken alone or as part of a total package. When choosing stand-alone modules, participants may select topics based on interest or need.

Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards (OELCS) - now includes IEP module!

The Ohio Early Learning Content Standards Modules have been designed to provide teachers with an in-depth understanding of the competencies needed by Ohio’s children for school readiness and success. Participants will also increase their knowledge, skill base and effective practices needed to support children’s emergent content understandings. Three 12-hour modules (mathematics, science and social science) will be delivered in four 3-hour sessions. Special delivery of two 6-hour sessions can be arranged upon request. The content of each module is based on Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards and indicators and is delivered in an interactive format. Target audiences include all early education, childcare, and preschool teachers and administrators as well as kindergarten teachers. The OELCS series now also includes an IEP module.

Preschool Literacy CORE Curriculum

The preschool core is a 15-session comprehensive early literacy curriculum for early childhood educators. This series has been developed to assist teachers in understanding the ways in which they can provide quality early learning experiences and intentional teaching strategies that support the early literacy development of children. This series helps teachers “connect the dots” among Ohio’s Early Learning Standards, Get it, Got it, Go!, ELLCO and research-based practices. Pending approval, participants may receive course credit from various institutions of higher learning for attending the entire series.
